I found some words that I wrote a few years back about the National Baseball Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. While brief, I would like to share this as I talked about the impact that baseball and sports can have on one’s life.
“Each of the speeches covered many of the unsung and untold stories that baseball, and athletics in general, can provide in life –lessons, hope and opportunity.
Baseball and sports can be a vessel for an individual to be the best that they are capable of being in their given trade and to earn a living. Baseball and sports can give people hope and opportunity that there is a future to be had. Baseball and sports, through their high visibility, can be social vessels for public issues.
Baseball and sports can touch the lives of each and every individual willing to believe that the game represents more than just the game – it represents the journey of who we are and what we believe in.”
